Why Solar LED Street Lamp is Bright During the Day?

Nowadays, solar LED street lamps are installed in everywhere the panet. solar LED street lamps not only provide illumination to people at night, but also make the night of the city more beautiful. However, some solar LED street lamps turn on during the day not only wastes energy, but also shortens the lighting time at night. So what causes solar LED street lamps to turn on during the day?

1. The solar panel does not charge the battery through the controller during the day

If the solar LED street lamp is on during the day, check the controller first. The red light on the controller means it is charging, and the flashing red light means that the battery is fully charged, and the controller is charging with a small pulse current. If the connection of the solar panel is not very firm, it will not be able to charge normally. It usually shows that there is voltage, and the normal open circuit voltage is above 17.5V; but there is no current. This phenomenon is that the wires of the battery board are not connected properly. If the controller is broken and can't receive the voltage transmitted by the solar panel, it will default that the street light is always working.

2. Solar panel is covered

If the solar panel is covered, it will also cause the solar LED street lamp to not work normally. Heavy snow cover, dust, leaf cover, etc. When these objects cover the solar panels, the output voltage of the solar panels will be lower than a certain value, and the solar LED street lamps will be lit.

3. Something wrong with the photoresistor

Photoresistors are particularly sensitive to light. When the light intensity is weak, the resistance is large, and as the light becomes stronger, the resistance value decreases. Therefore, this feature can be used to detect the strength of the sunlight, and output to the solar LED street lamp controller as a control signal for turning on and off the street light. Photoresistors have relatively high requirements for installation, and are prone to miscontrol in rainy, cloudy and other conditions. So if there is a problem with the photoresistor, it will cause the solar LED street lamp to turn on during the day.

4. The solar panel is faulty

Solar panels convert sunlight energy into electrical energy. The stronger the light, the weaker the light, the lower the output light. The output voltage of the battery panel can be used as a basis to turn on the street light when the voltage is lower than a certain level, and turn off the street light when the voltage is higher than a certain level. If the solar panel fails to generate electricity and the controller cannot sense current, it will be considered dark and the street lights will be lit during the day. If the solar panel junction box is not welded well, it may be welded, causing the power to be sent out, and the lights will turn on during the day.

5. The solar LED street lamp controller displays the undervoltage state

The light does not turn on after dark, but the battery voltage has exceeded the undervoltage value, indicating that the battery is charged. After the battery drops to this voltage point, the controller turns off the power supply and stops discharging, mainly to protect the battery from being over-discharged and affecting the subsequent use of the entire equipment. The charging voltage will only continue to discharge when it is charged to 24V (the default value of the controller). The main purpose of this setting is to prevent the battery from being damaged by deep discharge. In the case of battery undervoltage, if the solar LED street lamp controller is not restarted, the voltage between 22.2 volts and 24 volts is under voltage, and the solar LED street lamp battery will continue to discharge only when the voltage of the solar LED street lamp battery is charged to more than 24 volts.
