Solar energy is a great idea for solving the energy scarcity of the world. With this green and inexhaustible energy source, the illumination problems of cities and rural areas have been solved. The solar light also helps the government save a lot of cost. But some people may reflect the road solar light is not bright enough? How to make road solar light brighter? Here, we listed some tips.

road solar light

1. Check the solar panel regularly

Road solar light provide illumination through the electricity converted by solar energy. Only when the solar panel fully absorbs the solar light can it provide electricity to the light. If the solar panel is blocked, it can't absorb the sunlight. In snowy days, the solar panels may be covered by snow or leaves. Then the road solar light can't provide illumination during consecutive rainy days as previously set. Or the brightness of the road solar light will decrease. So, users should check the solar panel regularly to ensure it's not blocked.  If the power of the solar panel is small, the battery will not be fully charged, the road solar light may be not bright enough, too.

Solution: The lighting surface of the solar cell module should be kept clean. If there is dust or other dirt, it should be rinsed with clean water first, and then the water traces should be gently wiped dry with a clean gauze. Do not rinse or probe with hard objects or corrosive solvent. If the power of the solar panel is not big enough, be sure to configure the road solar lights reasonably.

2. Check the battery and controller

When the road solar light is configured, the battery capacity is too small, or the configuration of the solar power street lamp controller is unreasonable, causing the brightness to decrease significantly after more than 3 days of rainy and cloudy days. This situation is prone to problems during periods when there are many cloudy and rainy days, while other times are more normal. However, if the number of local cloudy and rainy days often exceeds the setting of the controller, it will bring a huge burden to the rechargeable battery, cause the battery to age, and affect the battery lifespan. Battery and controllers are core components of the road solar light. The battery provides the electricity to the street light during night under the control of solar power street lamp controller.

Solution: To configure road solar lights, look for a capable street light manufacturer. The user needs to provide the local sunshine duration, the longest number of cloudy and rainy days and other parameters, so that the manufacturer can reasonably equip solar power street lamps. If the battery ages, remember to replace the battery in time. It's not difficult to replace the new battery. If you don't know how to perform, ask the professionals for advice.

3. Check the solar light exposure

If solar power street lamps are installed on both sides of the road, we have to consider whether there are vegetation on both sides of the road. solar power street lamps supply power to the lights by absorbing solar energy. If it is blocked, the solar panel may not absorb enough sunlight. Simultaneously, the orientation of the solar panel is also very important, and it is best to face the strongest sunlight. The ideal tilt angle is to make the annual power generation of the solar panel as large as possible, so that the difference between the power generation in winter and summer is as small as possible. Usually take the local latitude or add a few degrees as the inclination angle of the local solar cell module installation (generally, the inclination angle is 30 degrees in the south of the Yangtze River; in the north of the Yangtze River, the inclination angle is 45 degrees). Only in this way can it be ensured that the solar panels fully absorb sunlight. Some users only pay attention to the problem of whether the solar panels are blocked, but do not pay attention to the orientation of the solar panels. If the solar panel is installed facing away from the sun, even if there is no shelter around it, it will absorb very little solar energy, which will affect the lighting effect.

Solution: Remember to check the direction of the solar panel during installation, the panel should face the strongest sunlight. And if something blocked the solar panel, remove the objects.
