Q3: If there isn't sun, can the lights still work?


Since the solar light needs sunlight to work, can it still work on rainy and cloudy days which are without sunlight? The answer is yes.


Solar street lights are designed with waterproof and batteries to store energy, and certainly cloudy and rainy days must be considered when designing. Therefore, solar street lights can work in rainy days. If it rains for several consecutive days, it depends on how many consecutive rainy days the street light configuration and technology can support.


On the other hand, solar panels can also be charged in rainy days, but the charging capacity will be different according to the degree of rainy days. Solar street lights are equipped with battery charging and discharging devices, which usually charge them when full of sunlight and maintain the battery power supply of the street lights in rainy days. The life of the light source is generally about 50,000 hours; the life of the solar panel is more than 20 years; the life of the controller is generally more than 10 years, depending on the life of the electronic components. But the battery life is the disadvantage of solar street lights. Generally, lead-acid batteries are used for 2-4 years, and lithium batteries are used for 4-8 years, mainly depending on the manufacturer's materials.
